Spend you day in the beautiful region of Mackenzie Country on a private day tour to Lake Tekapo & Lake Pukaki from Christchurch. After pick-up from your hotel,take a 3.5 hr scenic drive through spectacular & breathtaking landscapes. Stretch your legs at the historic town of Geraldine and treat your taste buds at an artisan cheese shop or browse for Merino and Alpaca fleece clothing.
Visit the turquoise colored Lake Tekapo & take in the tranquility of this place. Visit the Church of Good Shepherd & the well-recognized Bronze Statue of Sheepdog.
Take a drive to Lake Pukaki and admire stunning views of Mt. Cook from a distance. Grab the opportunity to purchase fresh salmon or feed the fish at a Salmon Farm floating on the glacier waters. Then drive to the summit of Mt. John to capture magnificent alpine landscape on your cameras.
Grab lunch at one of the cafés before you hit the Hot Pools. Soak up & unwind at Tekapo Springs surrounded by breathtaking alpine views. After hot pools, drive back to Christchurch via same scenic route and drop-off to your location.

My Vaccine Pass certificates will be required for everyone taking part in any of our Tours or Transfers. People under the age of 12 years and 3 months are not required to show proof of vaccination. We reserve the right to verify the pass through the NZ Pass verifier app and/or asking for valid ID. Exempt passengers are also required to have a My Vaccine Pass. Masks are required on tour coach and you must not travel if you're feeling unwell.

Church of Good Shepherd & Sheepdog Memorial
The Church of Good Shepherd is a little stone Church on the shores of Lake Tekapo. It surrounded by the majestic landscapes and was opened in 1935. It is the sole church in Lake Tekapo & continues to be the place of worship for local residents. This Church acts as a memorial to the farmers & shepherds who pioneered the region of the Mackenzie Basin. The bronze Sheepdog memorial erected in 1968 on the edge of Lake Tekapo serves as a tribute to the dogs used by Scottish Shepherds during the 19th century.
Mt John
You may choose to take a10 minute’s drive or a 1-hour scenic walk up the summit of Mt John. Plenty of sunshine with clear blue skies during summer months or snow capped mountains during winters; these varied views will never disappoint! Enjoy a quick bite or a cup of coffee at the Astro Café that provides 360 degrees scenic views of Lake Tekapo and surrounding mountains.
Tekapo Hot Springs
During daytime, sit back, relax & soak up in Tekapo Springs that offers three tiered Hot Pools that resembles the shape of 3 lakes of this region: Ohau (36 degrees), Pukaki (37 degrees) and Tekapo (38 degrees). While you unwind in the hot pools, the kids can enjoy the waterslides or the aqua play area. You may also choose to enjoy a meal or a drink at the Tahr Bar & Café.
